  • The Southland Daily News reviewer reported that “The Beach Boys were quite an entertaining group and their surfin’ numbers went across well. Even though they were an almost identical combination to ‘The Surfaris’ they overshadowed them somewhat. The group’s saxophonist was humorous and during his version of ‘The Monster Mash’ he had the audience rollicking.”.
  • REVIEW: Jan & Dean's first album, released on Dore in , shows the sound of the duo firmly rooted in doo-wop and rock, with driving bass lines reminiscent of Mike Love's contributions to the Beach Boys, and tongue planted firmly in cheek for such send-ups as the album's lead-off track, a rock 'n' roll cover of the folk standard "Clementine".

  • "Monster Mash" is a novelty song and the best-known song by Bobby "Boris" Pickett. The song was released as a single on Gary S. Paxton's Garpax Records label in August along with a full-length LP called The Original Monster Mash, which contained several other monster-themed tunes.
  • This CD teams up two previously released live Beach Boys LP's, featuring a show in Sacramento, CA and a few shows from London. It was originally available as a domestic release, but has since been cut out by Capitol USA. Rumor has it that it will be reissued in the States, but for now it's available only as an import/5(11).

  • Recorded live in Sacramento in , the Beach Boys run through several of their big early hits and a bunch of covers that hadn't made it to record. The screaming, while not at a Beatles Live at the Hollywood Bowl level, is loud enough to present a real problem as far as sonic clarity, especially given that the instruments aren't recorded too well either.
  • The Beach Boys - Monster Mash (Live ) [ Reviews] [ Want lists] the official "Concert" album and tracks seem to be from the concert in Sweden in November '64 as featured on the "Mike Love, Not War" boot. Type of media: Bootleg CD.
